A number of Christian families began meeting together in a home at Scarborough, Queensland, in 1937. As this home church grew they became known as the Redcliffe Assembly as part of a network of like-minded churches throughout Australia. The Assembly later moved to the CWA Hall, Redcliffe, for collective worship and a Sunday School was commenced there. Further expansion to Kippa Ring with a pioneering work in that residentially developing area occurred in 1964, meeting in the Kippa Ring Progress Association Hall on the current K-Mart site under the name of Redcliffe Christian Assembly. A property was then purchased in Ashmole Road, Redcliffe, when the Church’s first permanent meeting place was built by voluntary labour and opened in October, 1967 and continued there until 1991.
There has been interface with hundreds of families in the Redcliffe area during this time. Many who have been associated with the Assembly have undertaken full-time Bible College training and there have been those who have been called to local and overseas mission work.
In 1983, a vision for expansion was developing with a view to being able to provide for community-felt needs such as Christian education and social welfare. After exploring several options of land since that time, a 50 acre lot at Rothwell was purchased in August 1986 and has been progressively developed into our current facilities.
As this vision developed during the 1990’s our Church has increased significantly in size with currently approximately 500 members. A multi-purpose development has been established which includes Christian education from Prep to Year 12, Retirement Village and Aged Care, Mueller College Early Learning Centre, Welfare Ministries and a Tertiary Bible College. With the growth of Mueller College the Church came to be recognised in the broader community as the church at Mueller, hence the name was changed to Mueller Community Church which is also consistent with our affiliation with the Christian Community Churches of Australia network.
